The aim of this study was to explore the nature of fear experienced by a group of pregnant women utilizing the Cape Town public obstetric service who reported having severe fear of childbirth. The study was undertaken at antenatal clinics within the Peninsula Maternal and Neonatal Service in Cape Town.
