spelling oai:open.uct.ac.za:11427/3807 An explorative study of the experiences and needs of foster carers of HIV psoitive children in the Western Cape, South Africa Warwick, Jenni-Kate John-Langba, Johannes Clinical Social Work Includes abstract. Includes bibliographical references. This explorative study of the experiences and needs of foster carers of HIV positive children in the Western Cape was carried out in order to gain an understanding about this particular group of foster carers and their subjective experiences and needs in relation to the care of their foster children. Foster care is currently the main form of care available to HIV positive children in South Africa, who are no longer in the care of their parents. For this reason, it is important to understand the challenges and needs of foster carers as they care for their foster children. It is hoped that some of the insights gained by this study may lead to further study in this field and could inform policy, planning and intervention. 2014-07-30T03:54:38Z 2014-07-30T03:54:38Z 2013 Master Thesis Masters MSocSc http://hdl.handle.net/11427/3807 eng application/pdf Department of Social Development Faculty of Humanities University of Cape Town
