description The rapid changes in digital technologies have compelled organisations to embark on digital transformation initiatives to remain competitive in the modern business landscape. However, the success of these complex projects is not guaranteed, posing challenges and deterring organisations in the pursuit of digital transformation. This research study explored the multifaceted dimensions of project success that contribute to successful digital transformation projects. The research adopted the viewpoints of the senior management stakeholder group (SMSG), who are crucial stakeholders overseeing these strategic initiatives. The study conducted in-depth interviews with SMSG participants using a qualitative approach to gather rich insights. The findings revealed a multifaceted set of factors contributing to project success, ranging from people-related factors like effective leadership and management skills to process- oriented methods and techniques. The study confirmed the importance of existing project success theories and highlighted the unique dimensions that are particularly challenging in the context of digital transformation. The findings emphasise the significance of considering a holistic set of factors, encompassing people, processes, technology, and customer focus. Additionally, incorporating various stakeholders' perspectives and understanding the influence of contextual factors can contribute to a successful and healthy transition during digital transformation initiatives.
