This study investigates the ambivalent traits of third world postcolonialism. Third world postcolonialism appears as an antithesis against the logical fallacy of the binary oppositions performed by the contemporary first world postcolonial theory and practice. The division between the first and the third world postcolonial aesthetics is due to their different interpretations and practices of the term 'postcolonial,' respectively. 2014-10-01T11:34:51Z 2014-10-01T11:34:51Z 2001 Doctoral Thesis Doctoral PhD http://hdl.handle.net/11427/7883 eng application/pdf African Languages and Literatures Faculty of Humanities University of Cape Town |
